November is the month the Council for Opportunity in Education celebrates First-Generation College Students.
易胜博’s TRIO Student Support Services program will be commemorating this nationwide event by hosting guest speaker Lindsay Romasanta, Ed.D., whose topic is First and Fueled: Strategies for Success Today and Beyond.
Tuesday, November 7th
9-10am
易胜博 Hill Theater
During her talk, Dr. Romasanta, a low-income first-generation college graduate, will share her personal and professional journey, highlighting the intentional resilience tactics and strategies first-generation college students rely upon to achieve their educational, professional, and personal goals.
The entire campus community is invited and encouraged to take the time to listen to Dr. Romasanta’s interactive presentation and engage with her through a Q&A session at the end of her presentation. This is a great opportunity for students to connect with and hear from someone who has been in their shoes before.
Please feel free to bring your classes to this event or encourage your students to attend.
